4 sets, 1 Tanakh and one Brit Chadashah were given.

They had a long conversation with a man from Yugoslavia who when he received the antisemitism tract responded by saying that many people in Gaza were killed. The team told the man that innocent people were caught in this war and how Israel warns the population when a city or an area will be attacked and that they do everything possible to protect and guard the population so that they would not be hurt. They spoke about how the terrorist use the population as human shields as they do not care about their well being or their lives. They told him that the terrorists hide themselves in schools and hospitals where the most vulnerable people are and then they accuse Israel of wrongdoing. They warned him to be very careful as most of the news was false and contrary to the word of God. He told them that he was an atheist and that God had punished him when he got sick. They told him that God uses all means for men to be saved. They spoke about the difference between religion and a relationship with God through Jesus and told him that God, His creator, could become His Father and that he can become His child. They shared that sin separates men from God and that forgiveness for sins can be found in Jesus and that the soul does not die and that there are two places for the soul, to everlasting life or everlasting shame. They told him that God does not force anyone, but that each person has a choice and a free will and that God was calling him to repent and come to Jesus to find forgiveness for his sins. When there is suffering, men either harden or open their hearts and they urged him to open his heart to God and to seek Him. He shared that at one time he was sick, and the doctor said that there was no cure for him but someone had given him a card to contact a person who could help him get better. He said that the person had healed him when he had touched his shoulder. The team spoke of the universal grace of God and shared that Jesus is the great healer and that He can spiritually restore this man.  They offered him a bible but he already had one, so they gave him the Beth Ariel card and encouraged him to listen to the word of God.

The team met a young man who was 19 years old from France who had just immigrated to Montreal, the previous week.  They gave him the antisemitism pamphlet and as they spoke with him, he shared that he was an atheist. They told him that the truth could only be found in the Bible. He was not ready to receive a bible but said that he would start by reading the pamphlet. They told him that he could listen to the word of God on the radio or on the internet. The gospel was shared, and they mentioned that one day he would need to call upon God, so they suggested that he keep the pamphlet and the contact card for reference.

The team then decided to move to another mall. One set in English was given to a very humble and gentle man. When he saw the Tanakh he was so happy to receive it and told them that he did not have one. He also received the Brit Chadashah with gladness and all the literature and a pin. He was very thankful and grateful.

One set in French was given to a very elegant woman who lives in France and arrived in Montreal two weeks ago. She received the pamphlet, the comfort card and the set and was very happy to receive all these gifts. She thought that she had to give a donation but was informed that this was a gift from the SDHS. She shared with that she had not been reading much in the past but that she was interested and open to read.  She told them that she believed in God very much, and so they encouraged her to seek God with an honest heart, and that He would reveal Himself to her. She took a pin and told them that one of the team members seemed familiar to her. They hugged each other before leaving.

One Tanakh in Hebrew/French was given to a couple and when they presented the Tanakh, the husband looked at it and opened it and decided to take it but declined the offering of the Brit Chadashah. He was very polite, and we the team was grateful to God that he kept everything else.

One Brit Chadashah in Hebrew was given to a woman who was born in Morocco and had lived in Israel. She shared that her whole family lives in Israel. She received the antisemitism pamphlet in Hebrew and took the comfort card. They told her that they had a gift for her and presented the Tanakh but she said that she already had one. They then offered the Brit Chadashah to her and explained that the book was written by Jewish men who believed that Yeshua was the Messiah, however, they saw that she was reluctant to take it. One of the team members shared that she is Jewish and believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. The woman was very surprised to hear that and so was told that in the Scriptures she could read about the truth of who He is. They told her that, in the first chapter of the Brit Chadashah, she could read about the genealogy of the Messiah, Son of David. She took the Brit Chadashah then, and as one of the team members shared more of the truth of the word of God, she answered “Amen” and spoke to them in Hebrew.

One set in Hebrew/English was given to a very elegant woman who when offered the antisemitism pamphlet, told them that she was starting to have many doubts about everything that is going on in Israel. They offered her the Tanakh at that point. She shared that she had two sons who were surgeons in New York and that the situation there, was not going very well regarding antisemitism. We assured her of the certainty of the word of God and that His promises and covenants toward Israel would be accomplished and not to doubt the word of God. They told her that everything that was happening, was already written. They talked about the situation in Gaza, and how the geographical area is where the Philistines had once settled and shared some quotes from Psalm 83. They informed her that the nation of Israel would never be annihilated according to the Scriptures. She received the Tanakh and was very surprised and shocked to see such a beautiful gift. She attempted to pay for the gift, but the team explained that it was a gift from the SDHS and that they were volunteers. They then handed her the Brit Chadashah and encouraged to read it and to discover who Yeshua truly was. They told her He was born in Bethlehem, from the tribe of Judah, that He came, and will come back to reign in Jerusalem. They informed her that the book was written by Jewish men who believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. One of the team members shared how Yeshua, by His grace, saved her. They gave her the Isaiah 53 leaflet and said that Yeshua could make her tsadik, righteous, before God. She had a big smile then and the team noticed that she had become more grateful as she was handed her beautiful gifts. She took the Beth Ariel card and was offered a hostage pin but she replied that she already had one. They hugged each other before leaving, and the team felt it was a very touching encounter seeing how this woman’s joy and countenance had lifted up.

As they ended the outreach, one of the team members had to go to another mall where they often evangelize, but this time it was to buy something. As she parked the car, she saw a man parked beside her who was about to take his cart back, so she approached him and offered him the antisemitism pamphlet which he took. As the team member asked him if he was part of the Jewish community, he turned away, but she immediately told him that she was Jewish. He then responded that he too was Jewish, and was very touched by the comfort card and the set that was given to him. He seemed overwhelmed! As he was taking his wallet out of his pocket the team member right away assured him that this was a gift from the SDHS. He was very grateful and deeply touched. He also received the Beth Ariel contact card and was encouraged to listen to the messages.

It was a wonderful outing and they praise God and thank Him for the great encounters that they had and commented that they saw the Holy Spirit move in the hearts of those they met! They then commented:

Praise God! All the glory and honour and praises are His!

1 set, 4 Tanakh, 1 English bible were given.

The second team was out on the same day but in a different area. The first Tanakh was given to a Jewish man from France. After taking it, he seemed very touched, saying “toda raba” (thank you in Hebrew) at least three times. They explained the gospel according to the Messianic viewpoint and shared about the coming of the Messiah. They told him about how some Jewish people believe that there are two Messiahs in the Jewish tradition but that the truth bears witness through the word that only one Messiah would come, twice and that He already came. His first coming was to fulfill the prophecies as mentioned in such verses as Micah 5:2 where it states, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me, one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times”. The member also mentioned Zechariah 12:10 where it states that He will be recognized as the One who was pierced and that this same Messiah would return to rule in Jerusalem. She mentioned Zechariah 9:9 and how He would ride into Jerusalem on a donkey. He was told about how in Isaiah 53 this same Messiah being rejected, despised, stricken and afflicted, pierced for man’s transgressions, all to make Him an offering for their sin, would then receive a portion among the great. He listened, transfixed, and then opened the Brit Chadashah but closed it saying that he would take only the Tanakh for the time being. He was encouraged to go online and listen to the teachings of their rabbi, Jacques Gabizon. It was a beautiful conversation and a moving moment.

They then met a young, beautiful Jewish lady who wore a necklace that had the first Hebrew letter of the alphabet, “alef” as a pendant. She was offered the Tanakh and was surprised at the quality of the gift. She was told that they were volunteers from the SDHS and that they believed in Yeshua as their Messiah. She took the comfort card and contact card as well, but refused the Brit Chadashah.

The team met a believer in Jesus who took the antisemitism pamphlet and a bookmark and then gave additional pamphlets out but there were few visitors to that mall so they decided to move on to another mall. There they met an Italian lady who wanted an English bible. She stated that she had relatives who were Jewish and so she was offered a gift set for them. She was very excited to be able to give them such a gift. The team then explained the gospel to this Catholic woman. They spoke to her about sin and how she could receive forgiveness only through Jesus. One of the team members explained how she could receive salvation through repentance of sin and how Jesus would forgive her sin with this repentance. She was very moved by this revelation and although she wanted to pray the prayer of salvation, she told the team that she would do that later on, on her own and in her car. She accepted prayer from them for her upcoming visit to her relatives and for herself and family. She thanked them for the gifts as she left having tears of conviction.

The team met a thirty-something year old Muslim man from Syria. He said that he was not actively participating in his faith and that he did have Jewish family in his background. He was very kind and humble and open to hearing about the word. He was encouraged to visit their congregation and to listen to their pastor’s teachings. They spoke to him about the Messiah and how man cannot receive salvation through good works because salvation can only be achieved through the forgiveness of sin. One of the team members gave a small testimony about a Muslim woman, who, while reading the bible and came to realize that Yeshua was the Lord and was convicted of her need for salvation through the Messiah. He thanked the team for the conversation.

A Tanakh was given to a lady who was a caregiver at Maimonides Medical Centre. She said that she would use it to read during her time with a Jewish circle she was involved with. She also received a bible for herself and then the team prayed for her and for her continued work in the Jewish community.

They then reached out to a religious couple with the traditional attire. The woman wanted to accept the Tanakh in Hebrew but was shown the large hard cover book. Seeing the size, she rejected it but a few moments later a smaller all Hebrew Tanakh was found and a team member went and offered that book. She was grateful for the effort and thanked the team for the work that they do.

It was a beautiful day, and they said they felt the Holy Spirit with them and thanked everyone who lifted up a prayer for them.  Most of all, they said they were thankful for the faithfulness of God in His provision and answered prayers.
