Today I would like to address a subject I have never discussed before: UFOs. Do they really exist? If they do, what or who could they be? For decades, reports of unidentified objects in the sky were often dismissed, ridiculed, or quickly forgotten. Yet the sightings never stopped. In fact, in recent years they have increased to the point that governments can no longer simply ignore them.
In 2022, the United States government established a new office within the Department of Defense called the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO. Its mission is straightforward; to collect, analyze, and investigate reports of these types of unexplained phenomena.
Whether one believes these reports point to advanced technology, natural phenomena, or something else entirely, one fact remains undeniable: The world’s most powerful military now considers the subject important enough to dedicate an entire office to studying it. That is how seriously the UFO question is taken today.
To give you an idea of how frequently these sightings are reported, consider this: The National UFO Reporting Center, a civilian organization that has collected eyewitness reports for decades, recorded more than 1,355 sightings in the first six months of 2026 alone. That averages roughly 225 reports per month, submitted by ordinary citizens, commercial and military pilots, police officers, and witnesses from around the world.
Yet, despite the videos, the photographs, the radar records, and the testimonies of thousands of witnesses, one important question remains: Do we possess definitive proof of extraterrestrial visitors? The answer is no! Despite thousands of reports and recent government declassifications, no government agency, scientific institution, or military investigation has produced conclusive evidence that any of these phenomena represent alien technology or visitors from another world.
But this leaves us with an even more intriguing question: If they are not extraterrestrials, then what are they? Who, or what could be playing this cosmic game of hide-and-seek with humanity? And perhaps most importantly for us: What does the Bible have to say about these things?
The Bible presents us with three categories of intelligent beings in the universe: God Himself, humanity, and angels. So let us consider them one by one. Could these phenomena come from God? The Scriptures would lead us to answer, no. For God does not work through secrecy, confusion, or mysterious games designed to leave humanity guessing. He Himself declares, “I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth”. Isaiah 45:19
And when our Lord was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, He said, “I have spoken openly to the world… and in secret I have said nothing.” John 18:20. God does not hide in the shadows, appearing briefly only to disappear again into mystery and speculation. So if these phenomena are real, they do not bear the character of God.
Could they originate from humanity? Perhaps one day mankind may possess such technology, and some sightings may indeed prove to be human inventions or military projects. But many reports describe characteristics that seem to go far beyond our publicly known capabilities.
If such reports are taken at face value, we appear to be left with only one remaining category of beings recognized by Scripture: the angelic realm. Not the holy angels, for these serve God openly and faithfully according to His purposes, but fallen angels, the beings the Bible refers to as demons. And this raises a sobering possibility: Could some of these manifestations represent an attempt to confuse, deceive, and mislead humanity? Could they be preparing the world to look for salvation, guidance, or peace from the heavens—but from the wrong source? These are serious questions.
And perhaps now more than ever, they deserve to be examined in the light of Scripture. The Bible repeatedly speaks of a spiritual realm inhabited by both holy angels and fallen angels. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places.” The Bible presents a universe that is far more spiritual than modern materialism would allow. There are spiritual beings. There are powers and principalities. There is deception. There is opposition.
And what is particularly striking is this: If these UFO phenomena are real, and if some of these sightings cannot be explained by conventional means, they fit remarkably well within the framework of certain end-time prophecies. For the Scriptures repeatedly warn us that deception will be one of the defining characteristics of the last days.
Speaking of the coming of the Antichrist, Paul writes, “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9. Notice those words: Power. Signs. Lying wonders. Not merely false ideas. Not merely false teaching but supernatural manifestations designed to deceive.
The Bible further tells us, “For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14. And Revelation adds, “The devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world.” Revelation 12:9. Could this be one of his methods? Could some of these phenomena be part of a deception preparing humanity to look to the heavens for answers, salvation, or deliverance, but from the wrong source?
And what makes this possibility even more interesting is that these phenomena often come with their own messengers and advocates, portraying the visitors as benevolent, enlightened beings who may hold the solution to humanity’s problems.
Consider, for example, Steven Spielberg’s recent return to the UFO theme in his film Disclosure Day. In the movie, extraterrestrial beings are portrayed not as invaders but as peaceful and advanced beings whose presence among humanity has been hidden from the public and whose revelation carries a message of hope and peace. This continues the theme Spielberg explored decades earlier in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial: not fear of the visitors, but trust in them.
And it is not interesting that these movies come at a time when Bible prophecies are beginning to rise and at a time when the Gospels are proclaimed. This is the second time it happens: First, we remember that at the very same time that popular culture experienced an explosion of fascination with extraterrestrials in the late 1970s and early 80s, at a time when the Gospel was advancing powerfully.
The Jesus Movement was bringing thousands of young people to faith in Messiah. Bible churches and evangelical ministries experienced remarkable growth. And the modern Messianic Jewish movement was born and grew with astonishing speed. Many historians have described this as the greatest movement of Jewish people coming to faith in Jesus since the first century.
And today, as we are seeing some wonderful Bible prophecies being fulfilled in front of our eyes, the fascination with these UFOs has returned. If they believe that they are coming to save the world, then who needs Jesus? This may be among the greatest deceptions this world may see, and it is only the beginning.
And if UFOs are real, they do fit so much the strategy of these evil being, to work in the dark and never openly declare who they are. Are we to expect an increase of these types of sightings? The answer is most probably yes. As we are approaching the very end of times, the Bible say in Revelation 12:12, “Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” He will use all that is in his power to deceive to confuse.
As for us, let us not be impressed by these things, but let us stay close to the eternal truth of God found in the Scriptures who uncovers these things for us. And today, for our study we will look into the realm of the spiritual world and see how the Lord has provided such a wonderful armor that will protect us from any of these fiery darts, coming from the evil spiritual world.
