In just one week, events around the world have unfolded at an astonishing pace. Each development seems to move the world one step closer to the opening stage of the Tribulation. Piece by piece, these events are aligning, forming an increasingly clear picture of what the Scriptures describe about the end times.
To begin with, three significant titles have recently been put forward. The Executive Board of Peace, the International Stabilization Force, and the Abrahamic Accords are all linked to the pursuit of a lasting peace treaty centered on Israel. The Executive Board of Peace, a title we frequently heard over the past weeks, was established to oversee stability in Gaza and help maintain a ceasefire in Israel’s war with Hamas. The agreement was signed last Thursday while world leaders were gathered in Davos, Switzerland. Following the signing, U.S. President Trump declared, “We have peace in the Middle East!”
He described the initiative as “the greatest and most prestigious board ever assembled at any time, in any place,” adding that “everyone wants to be a part of it.” Approximately 50 to 60 countries were invited to participate, and around 30 have agreed so far. Participation is costly: any nation seeking permanent membership would be required to contribute $1 billion. Even the Pope was reportedly invited to join and is reportedly considering it.
Then, to implement this peace, there is the International Stabilization Force. It is a proposed multinational peacekeeping and security force created as part of a peace plan for the Gaza Strip; in other words, armies from nations around the world will be in Israel and right next to Jerusalem. That sounds strikingly similar to the kind of developments the prophets told us to watch for.
The prophet Daniel tells us that the Tribulation will begin with a similar Peace Treaty, after which, according to Zechariah, the armies of the nations of the world will surround Jerusalem. How would this all happen? Daniel tells us that a time will come when a powerful world leader, whom Scripture calls the Antichrist, will “make a firm covenant with many for seven years” (Daniel 9:27). Daniel further describes this period as one of apparent tranquility and prosperity, marked by peace and security (Daniel 11:24).
Ezekiel, in his well-known prophecy of Gog and Magog, which many within Judaism believe will precede the Messianic era, confirms this timeframe. He writes of a future moment “in the latter years” when the people of Israel regather from many nations and return to the mountains of Israel, a land once desolate but restored after the sword (Ezekiel 38:8). This clearly points to Israel’s modern return in 1948. Ezekiel then adds a crucial detail: “they are living securely, all of them.” Immediately after this description of security and peace, he describes a massive invasion from the north.
What is most extraordinary is that, for the first time in history, all the elements necessary for the Tribulation appear increasingly to be in place. However, let me be clear: I am not suggesting that the agreement signed in Davos is that treaty, nor am I claiming that the Antichrist is the current President of the United States who leads this Board of Peace. What I am saying is this: these developments are clearly paving the way, shaping the global climate, and making it easier for such a leader to rise in the near future. We are truly living in very exciting times.
As for the Abraham Accords, signed on September 15, 2020, they provide the diplomatic foundation. The Executive Board of Peace supplies the political framework and governance. The International Stabilization Force is designed to enforce security on the ground. Taken together, we can see how structured and comprehensive this model is. Again, it resembles the very kind of framework Scripture tells us will one day accompany a coming peace treaty.
However, I also want to share another event: last Wednesday, something unprecedented occurred on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. According to the Jerusalem Post, for the first time in nearly 2,000 years, Jews were permitted to pray there while holding printed prayer texts. Until now, non-Muslim prayer has been forbidden on the Temple Mount, and Jews are not allowed to bring prayer materials. Yet on this occasion, the police allowed worshipers to carry printed prayers, including the Amidah, which observant Jews recite three times daily. This is a significant development, one that clearly moves toward rebuilding the Third Temple, a Temple Scripture places in the Tribulation period.
Things are moving quickly. When we step back and consider these developments together, they do not appear random or isolated. Together, they form a converging pattern, much like the approach of a perfect storm. Before a major storm strikes, no single sign seems overwhelming. The wind shifts. The clouds thicken. The pressure drops. To the untrained eye, it feels like just another day. But a seasoned observer knows that when these signs converge, a storm is imminent.
In the same way, geopolitical agreements, religious shifts in Jerusalem, and the language of global peace may each seem manageable on their own. Yet when they converge rapidly and simultaneously, they signal that the world is entering a decisive season. Scripture does not call us to panic, but to discern. Do not fear the storm, but recognize that the sky is changing.
And we must remember this: the next prophetic event is not the rise of the Antichrist but the return of Yeshua for His own. The hope of the Body of Messiah, the Church, is the Rapture. This is what the Bible calls the Blessed Hope, which Paul explains as the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Yeshua the Messiah. Titus 2:13
