One Brick at a Time
We have previously seen how the nations today are divided according to how the prophets have predicted. Ezekiel, Daniel and John in Revelation, have spoken of 4 main divisions of nations in the end times. The King of the North, Gog and Magog which is identified as Russia and her allies, along with the Willful King, the western nations with the eventual Antichrist at its head. Third we have the Kings of the East, or the Kings of the Rising Sun as they are named in Revelation who represent the Asian nations especially China, who is today already a world power.
Then, there is that 4th assembly of nations the prophet Daniel calls the King of the South with Egypt at its head. But so far, we have not seen any groups of nations that could represent this King of the South except something of late. There is a fairly new assembly of nations that is taking shape in the world, which gathers, among others, Egypt and African nations. This may well come to represent the King of the South.
This group is called BRICS, an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. While this group formed quite a while ago, back in 2009, today they are experiencing a sudden growth. Last week, six new countries have been invited to join them and will become official members on January 1, 2024. These 6 include Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina, and the United Arab Emirates.
And in all, 23 countries have been asked to become members so it is a growing power in the world. And, for now, just the original members of BRICS, represent approximately 40% of the world’s population and 25% of the world’s wealth. According to their vision, the group’s goal is to reshuffle things and create a new world order. They are even speaking of creating their own currency.
But what is interesting for us is to notice that a few of these countries, form ties with the North and the South, that is how Russia, Iran and the King of the South find their ties. And this fits well with the prophecy of Daniel when he described both the north and the south.
In one of his last prophecies, in chapter 11, Daniel speaks of a strong alliance between the King of the North, Russia and its allies, with the King of the South, which was, that the time, Egypt and its neighboring nations. This could be the alliance that would confront the western world and eventually go to war against it. Daniel 11: 6 reads, After some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will come to the king of the North to carry out a peaceful arrangement.
But as the prophecy continues, Daniel sees both these groups of nations together, fighting against the Willful King, that is the Antichrist and his western nations. In the same chapter he writes, At the end time the king of the South will collide with him (the Antichrist), and the king of the North will storm against him (the Antichrist). Daniel 11: 40-41a. This brings us right to the Tribulation times where we see the King of the North with the King of the South joining forces against the western countries. This would explain why the same countries are found in both these groups.
And guess where all these nations, along with the Kings of the East will eventually meet to fight their wars? In Israel. See what Daniel adds in the same chapter and three times over: He (the Antichrist ) will also enter the Beautiful Land…with many countries…with destruction in his hand vs.16, 41. The Beautiful Land is the Land of Israel.
So, as the nations of the King of the South and those of the King of the North form an alliance and fight the Antichrist, Daniel gives us the place for their battles which will surely be in the famous Valley of Armageddon in northern Israel.
And this will lead us directly to the Second Coming of the Messiah.
We finally can see a good possibility of the prophecy of Daniel chapter 11 rising in the horizon. Could this fairly new assembly of nations, BRICS be an important steppingstone to this tribulation alliance that will be formed? We cannot tell for sure, but this development is surely opening up the place for another, a 4rth assembly of nations, as the Bible predicted there will be. And, if it is, then more is put into place in terms of fitting all the pieces into the puzzle, gaining a fuller picture of the 4 world divisions needed when Yeshua will come back. Yeshua said to stay on the alert, to pay attention to the signs around us.
