Magen David on Hebrew Scriptures

Wednesday, October 9th

4 sets and 1 Spanish New Testament were given.

A team of two women were out on a sunny day at a local shopping mall.  The first set was given to a man who said his son was married to a Jewish woman.  He wanted to have the set to give to them as he planned to go to their home that evening. He stated that he was raised Christian and so the team spoke to him about Jesus being the only way to salvation for all nations.  He was truly thankful as he listened to them quote John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”.

A set was then given to a woman who they approached because she had stopped backing up her car to thank them, and not understanding why she had stopped to do so, they asked her why she was thanking them. She said it was because of their thoughtfulness by stepping out of her way. They then took that opportunity to offer her the gift set as they saw the hand of God in that encounter.  She accepted the set with joy and even took her time to talk with the team while the cars were waiting for her to back out of her spot!

A set was given to a man whose daughter had married a Jewish gentleman. He told the team that the couple was not very religious. He appeared to be touched by the team and their gift and said it was a chance meeting to which they said that nothing comes by chance but by the hand of God and so they gave him the Beth Ariel contact card so he could see where to go online to listen to the messages from Pastor Jacques.

The team had a conversation with a Catholic woman for about twenty minutes. They asked her many questions about her faith and in particular, one question was if she died would she be sure she was going to heaven. She truthfully told them that she was not sure and so they shared the gospel message with her telling her that salvation was only through Jesus the Messiah. They prayed with her as her husband had just gone through a big test that the outcome would be good and they prayed as well for their salvation. They gave her the Beth Ariel card and invited them to the congregation. The woman informed them that she had worked for many Jewish doctors, and they then offered her the anti-Semitism pamphlet.

The fourth gift set was given to a Jewish woman who was open to what they were telling her. She said she was an Ashkenazi Jew and her husband was Sephardic.  The team told them about their pastor who was also Sephardic and that he had come from a long line of rabbis. The woman said her family did not follow the feasts but her husband’s family did. The team spoke to her about Yeshua and Him being the Messiah. The conversation ended with the woman stating that the team was doing a great work. The team prayed later that this couple would come to Yeshua and receive salvation.

Lastly, a woman received a Spanish New Testament.  She had her daughter with her and was approached as they were coming from the mall.  They also gave her the Beth Ariel contact card and invited her to visit the congregation.  She was told that the card listed a website where she could go and listen to the pastor’s messages in Spanish. She was very thankful.

The day went well, and the team was very thankful for the conversations they had and they thank everyone who prayed for them while they were out witnessing.
