Outreach report – November 12th 2024
Friday, November 15th
3 sets, 1 Tanakh and 3 bibles were given.
On a beautiful, sunny day a team of two women were at a small shopping mall where Sephardic Jews frequent. The first set was given to a Moroccan gentleman who was first offered an anti-Semitism pamphlet. They asked him if he knew when anti-Semitism would stop, and he replied saying that he believed man could bring peace. They then told him that only the Messiah could bring lasting peace. He received both the Tanakh, the Brit Chadashah and all the literature. He was very grateful.
Next, they met a Muslim man from Algeria. They spoke to him about there being only one God and only one way and that was through Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah who would bring peace to all the nations. He listened to them throughout this conversation while they spoke about sin and how man could be reconciled to God through Yeshua. He said he did not have a bible and accepted one from them along with a contact card so he could find the website and listen to the messages.
Another French set was given to a man who was first offered a pamphlet. He asked if he needed to give a donation and was told it was a gift. As they showed him the Tanakh, he asked if it was the Torah and so they explained what the Tanakh was. He then asked if what he was being offered was the Brit. They explained that it was the NT and that they believed Yeshua is the Messiah. They told him that in this book he could read about the prophecies the Messiah accomplished during His first coming. They told him that He is coming back to rule and reign in Jerusalem. The man was pleased at hearing this and took everything offered to him and was surprised at the number of gifts he received.
Two women from Persia were approached next. They were not Muslim nor from any formal religion. They listened as the team spoke about the Messiah and about there being only one true God, and about Yeshua, the Messiah being the only God who could bring peace. One of the women received an English bible while the other woman took a French bible. A contact card was also given to both of them. As they spoke to these women, a few people nearby listened in but one man in particular was looking directly at them and so they decided to leave at that point, avoiding unnecessary opposition.
The team decided to go to another mall where they met a man who was involved at his synagogue and had a library at home full of religious books. He said he had a Tanakh and so they gave him a bookmark. However, after thinking twice, he asked to receive a Tanakh for a friend of his. They gladly gave him one and took the opportunity to show him the Isaiah 53 leaflet. He refused the Brit Chadashah, but was very thankful to take the Tanakh and was touched when given a comfort card.
A set was given then to a young mother who had her first child, a little boy, with her. She took the set and was very, very touched by this gesture. They told her about the Messiah who would bring peace and that His name is Yeshua.
They then spoke with a woman who was engaged and about to get married. She told them that her father was very religious so she could not accept the Tanakh from them, however, she did take the bookmark and an Isaiah 53 leaflet. The team had a wonderful conversation with this young woman.
Just after, they spoke with two women who said that it was terrible what was going on (anti- Semitism) and the team replied, saying that everything is written about this in the Holy Scriptures, in the Tanakh. The women however, refused to take it. This encounter took place at the end of their outing, nevertheless they expressed that they had a wonderful day and praised God for the sets given, the bibles and the conversations they had. They thank everyone who prayed and they give all the praise, honor and glory to God.
