Outreach report – November 12th 2024
1 Tanakh, 1 set and some literature.
A team of 2 went out door to door, in the same neighborhood where a security guard had stopped them the time before.
They rang a doorbell where there was a surveillance camera and nobody answered. As they approached the next house the owner of the first home was just entering her driveway. They went to greet her.
The woman got out of her car and told the team not to ring the bell of the neighbor next door. She said they were probably asleep. So they simply inserted a pamphlet in the letterbox. Then they told the woman that they rang her doorbell a few minutes earlier, to offer her a Tanakh as a gift. She answered that she already had a Tanakh, which she believed was not the same translation as the one offered by the outreach team. She also specified that this was a Jewish neighborhood! One of the team members replied that she too was Jewish and that the Tanakh offered was literally the same since both books contained the exact original in Hebrew.
As the woman went back to her house, the team continued on their way. They rang another doorbell and a woman gratefully received the Tanakh, a pamphlet and a comfort card.
At another door, a young woman was very surprised to receive the Scriptures. She accepted a complete set in English, along with all the literature. She was also very grateful and thankful.
As the team was returning to the car to get more materials, one member noticed the neighborhood security car heading toward them. Perhaps not having spotted the team, they passed by without stopping, but then the team decided to get in the car and leave the neighborhood.
Unfortunately, it was a very short outing, but grateful to the Lord for all the materials distributed and received, and for His protection. Thanks also for the prayers of the saints that accompany them during these outings and for the ongoing prayers for this precious ministry.
