Magen David on Hebrew Scriptures

Friday, July 12th

2 English sets, 1 English Tanakh, 2 English Bibles were given.

On this very hot day, two ladies went to a local mall to offer the scriptures to those from the Jewish community.  The first set was given to a Jewish man who was waiting in the car for his wife to return from shopping.  He was very receptive to taking the set and listened happily as the team spoke about the necessity of reading the Scriptures and knowing when the Messiah would return. When the wife came back, he was eager to leave, thanking them as they left.

A second set was received by an Israeli Jewish woman and her daughter as they were returning to their car.  They had a long conversation and the mother confessed that she had seen the Jesus movie in Israel the previous year and had decided that she did not want to be involved in a religion but wanted to have a spiritual relationship with God. One of the team members spoke to the mother about how man has departed from God in the Garden and through disobedience, sin entered in. She told her how God had a plan of redemption for man through the blood covering, first by the skins of animals and then through the sacrifice of a spotless lamb (Passover) and finally with the perfect atonement placed upon God’s Son who shed His blood on the tav for all mankind as seen in John 3:16. Both women were very touched and were shown the Isaiah 53 leaflet and the prophecy of the coming Messiah, the One Who would make man tsadik.  The daughter took the Isaiah 53 pamphlet, the bookmark on messianic prophecy and accepted prayer from the team. Thanking them, and after hugs all around, they left smiling and waving.

The team then met two young men from the state of Pennsylvania who were vacationing in Montreal.  They accepted the anti-Semitism pamphlet while they were resting in their car and were willing to chat about their faith.  They stated that they believed in Jesus and were encouraged to read the word.  They were asked if they had their own bibles, and both shook their heads. The team was happy to give them both an English bible. They were receptive to have prayer and lifted their hands in agreement.  They were very thankful for the gift saying that the conversation had touched them.

An English Tanakh was given to a Jewish lady who was very involved in the Jewish community. She was first offered the anti-Semitism pamphlet but stated that she knew all about that issue and did not need it. However, she did receive the Isaiah 53 leaflet and was very grateful for it.

Then finally, they met a Jewish man who was very touched as he received the Isaiah 53 leaflet and the anti-Semitism pamphlet.  He noticed that one of the team members had a similar neck chain that read, “Bring them home” (referring to the Israeli hostages held in Gaza) and he was eager to show them his neck piece. He then continued on his way to do some shopping wishing them a good day.

The team stated that there were not as many at the mall as usual, possibly due to the extreme heat and there was a spiritual darkness over the area when they first arrived but shortly after praying the feeling dissipated and they rejoiced for the faithfulness of God and the blessings from the prayer warriors.
