Report for August 19, 2022
5 pamphlets and 5 sets were given. At a local mall an outreach team of two ladies had wonderful conversations with people regarding their faith and the Jewish Messiah. The first gift set was given to a woman who found it incredulous that such beautiful books were given for free and she asked where the sets originally came from. When she learned the identity of the giver (The Society for the Publication of the Hebrew Scriptures) she was filled with joy. They spoke to her about the Messiah and how we, being sinful, can only receive forgiveness from the Messiah alone. They spoke also about the Brit Chadashah and how it is a book written by Jews. The woman revealed that she had a grandchild who was in the process of being converted.
One of the team members then shared her own testimony of when she found out that indeed she should consider herself Jewish because the Bible shows that the lineage indeed descends through the father. Another Jewish woman gladly accepted an English set for herself and took a French Hebrew set for her husband. They spoke together how the time of Yom Kippur was soon arriving and about sin in particular. The team shared how hope in the Messiah and His atoning blood sacrifice lead to the forgiveness of sin as seen in Lev.17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.”.
Next, a Hebrew gift set was given to a man who travelled often to Israel as he has adult children both there and in Montreal. They spoke about salvation through faith by grace and how Abraham was justified through his faith in God. The gentleman was conscious of man’s sin nature. A team member referenced Psalm 51 for him and how salvation came through the cleansing grace from the Messiah. He received the congregation’s coordinates and was offered to come and visit during one of the Shabbat services. Finally, a man from Morocco received a French/Hebrew set and mentioned that he had 22 grandchildren. The team was blessed as this man opened himself up to them and was eager to learn more. They gave him the contact card for the congregation, and he gave them his phone number. The team made arrangements to visit the following Sunday at his home.
Here is the report from that home visit: They spent 3 ½ hours with him discussing the Messiah, His righteousness and the offering of redemption through Him only. Again, they spoke of man’s sin nature and the offering of forgiveness through His blood atonement. He was offered to say a prayer of salvation but preferred to speak with Pastor Jacques first. This information was passed on to the pastor for follow up. The following evening the pastor and his wife sent to visit this man and spent over 2 hours sharing about many things including much on bible prophecy and the Messiah in particular. At the end of the meeting, this man was asked if he believed that Yeshua was the Jewish Messiah. He responded yes. Let us pray that the Spirit would continue to give increase of knowledge and conviction concerning his confession. We will be following up with this 74-year-old man in the near future.
The team wants to thank all those that prayed for them and are grateful for the Word which continues to save people
