1 set, 1 Tanach, and 1 Bible were given, plus several pamphlets
At the first mall:
A team of two was out that day and met a Jewish man who took the antisemitism pamphlet. He did not want to receive the Scriptures but accepted the Beth Ariel contact card after they told him that their congregation was Messianic and shared about their faith in Yeshua, the Messiah. He took the card and thanked them. At that moment, they noticed a security car and decided to go to the other side of the mall.
At the new location, they gave one set in Hebrew/English to a Jewish woman who was very happy to receive the whole set. When they presented the Brit Chadashah, she understood that it was the New Testament. She gladly accepted both books and thanked them. She also received the Purim pamphlet and the Beth Ariel card.
Again, they were disappointed to see a security car pass by and decided to return to the main entrance of the mall. Here, they gave a Purim pamphlet and a bookmark to a religious woman, and another Purim pamphlet and a Beth Ariel card to a young Jewish man who was about to deliver baskets (mishloach manot: Hebrew for “sending of portions”; shalach mones, in Yiddish). He already had a Tanakh, he said, so one of the team members shared that she was a Messianic Jew, and the team then shared their faith in Yeshua.
They met a Jewish man who, when they approached to give him a pamphlet, initially started to walk away, then turned around and told them that he practiced Judaism and fully believed in his religion. He said that the worship of statues is forbidden, and they agreed. He confided that he had received a Tanakh and couldn’t dispose of it because the name of God was written on it. He expressed his trust in God because of the protection and his conviction of His existence. They wholeheartedly agreed with this and responded as he was walking away by saying, “Am Israel Chai.” His face changed, and he smiled.
The team then decided to go to another mall and gave a Tanakh in Hebrew/French to a Jewish woman, who initially declined to accept the gift. She shared that she was Chabad and was following her rabbi. They warned her to be careful and to verify the truth in the Word of God for herself, speaking of many books added, especially after the Diaspora. They told her that there is only one truth, found in the word of God. They explained that it has always been the minority who believed in the truth and that true prophets of God were killed by religious and civil leaders. They talked about sin and the passage in Isaiah 53, stating that only the Messiah can remove sins and make one tsadik. They discussed man’s sin nature, quoting Psalm 51. She thanked them and received the Tanakh, the leaflet of Isaiah 53, the Purim pamphlet, and the Beth Ariel card. She expressed her gratitude.
As they were talking with her, they saw a man approaching them. One of the team members spoke to him and learned that he was from Africa and had seen a vision of Jesus while in a coma for six days. He told them that Jesus had resurrected him and shared that his faith was in Him. He received a Bible in French and said he was Protestant. They gave him the Beth Ariel card and invited him to attend the congregation, encouraging him to listen to the teachings.
The team thanked God for His protection and for all the encounters they had. Praise God!
