3 sets, 1 Brit Chadashah, 1 Bible and 1 prayer of salvation
Team #2 report
The first set was given to a Muslim man from Morocco. He wanted to share the Scriptures with his Jewish friends, so he took a gift set, and an extra Brit Chadashah for them and a French bible for himself. He also took many anti-Semitism and Shavuot pamphlets in English and Hebrew. They had a long conversation about antisemitism, and he agreed with what he was told. He mentioned that he had many friends, both Jewish and Christian, and that he knew about Jews for Jesus. He remarked that he had viewed a debate between a Messianic leader and a rabbi regarding the trinity of God. He wanted to know what “Holy, holy, holy” meant and the role of angels. The conversation turned to the topic of sin and how only the Messiah could cleanse man of it. He accepted prayer for himself and asked that he would have a relationship with Yeshua. It was a fruitful conversation.
They then had a conversation with a lady who was born in France. She told the team that her parents were Muslim but that she did not follow any religion. They shared the gospel with her and about the need to have repentance from her sin through the Messiah, Yeshua. She took an antisemitism pamphlet. Later on, they met this woman again and asked her if she wanted to pray to receive Jesus as her Saviour. She wanted that very much and immediately began to pray. She followed a member’s direction in prayer and received Jesus into her life and heart. There was much emotion, and she was very humbled and touched.
It became quiet where they were, so they moved on to another mall. Here they met two Jewish ladies, a mother and her daughter. The team greeted them with, “Happy Shavuot” and the mother said she was just thinking of Shavuot and where they should go to attend a service. The women were informed that they were bible believers and volunteers for the Society that Distributes Hebrew Scriptures. The mother told them that she believed in Yeshua but that her daughter did not. They were given a French set, a Shavuot pamphlet and the Beth Ariel contact card. They were invited to the congregation, but the daughter said she had plans.
They then met another two ladies and one of them said she was from Hungary and in the conversation told the team that she and her friend were Jewish. She took the set, and they spoke about sin for some time and how only the Messiah could cleanse them from it. The woman spoke of good works but the team told her that all mankind were sinners and fell short of the glory of God and that believing in good works for salvation actually blocked their relationship with God. A member spoke to them about the required blood atonement for sin which was carried out once for all people through the Messiah who had already come and will return to rule and reign in Jerusalem.

3 Bibles were given.
On this beautiful sunny day three team members were out distributing pamphlets to the Jewish community on the week before the Feast of Shavuot.
Team #1 (one person)
This member gave one French set to a beautiful Jewish women from Morocco who received it with a very, very thankful heart. She was very touched when they spoke about Jesus, Yeshua the Messiah of Israel. She also received all the literature and shared that she had read the Bible. She was given a Beth Ariel card where she could listen to the Word and about Yeshua.
The second set, in French, was giving to a Muslim man. As she shared her faith in Jesus, he responded by saying that he was very open to listen. As she spoke to him, he told her that most of his friends were Jewish and that he considered them as his brothers. The set that he received was for one of his Jewish friends he said, and he took a Bible as well. He was very happy and encouraged her to be brave and thanked her for the good work.
This single member gave a Bible to a Muslim woman who came from Casablanca. The team member shared with he that her pastor was also from Casablanca and that she could listen to his messages on the radio or on the internet. They spoke about Jesus being the only way and that through His sacrificial death on the cross man can be reconciled to God. She received a Beth Ariel contact card and was very surprised to hear that the pastor came from the same place where she was born.
Another Christian woman received the antisemitism tract. As they spoke, she shared with the member that she had a lot of Jewish friends so three cards and pamphlets on Shavuot were given to her to share with her friends. As the member left, the woman said, “It is great what you are doing”.
While at the other shopping mall, the teams switched members for the last half hour.
This new team gave a set to a Catholic couple. While in conversation, they mentioned that their son-in-law was Jewish and was born in Tel Aviv but now lives in Montreal. As the team member spoke with the wife, she was very excited to share the love that she had for the Jewish people and the Jewish community. The woman shared that her son-in-law and his family are very involved with the synagogue. One team member shared about her faith in Jesus, Yeshua, the Messiah. They spoke about the prophecies in the Old Testament and the fulfillment in the New Testament. The wife was very thankful for the conversation and the pamphlets and said that she would give her son-in-law the set. A Bible was given to the couple.
A conversation started with a Jewish man. He shared that his parents were born in Israel and had passed away. The team member shared about her faith and the messianic viewpoint. As a set was offered, the man said that he had already a Tanakh. He received all the literature that was given to him and the Beth Ariel card where he was encouraged to listen to the word of God.
The second team’s members spoke with a man who was sitting in his car. He received the antisemitism tract and as they realized that he was from the Jewish community, they handed him a Beth Ariel comfort card and the pamphlet for Shavuot entitled, “The most beautiful love story between Israel and God” and gave him a pin. They said, “We pray that this encounter had encouraged him as he seemed sad”.
There was a long conversation for about 10 to 15 minutes with a Jewish man who read Hebrew. They shared their faith in Yeshua with him and asked him where he would go when he dies. He responded by saying that he was a good person. They shared how sin separates man from God and that only the Messiah, Yeshua can remove sins. They showed him the Isaiah 53 leaflet and told him that the Messiah can make him righteous (tzadik in Hebrew). They spoke about the difference between religion and a true relationship with God and referred to the relationship that David had with God and how God wants the heart of the person. He was confused on the definition of a Jew, so they told him that being Jewish is a lineage, a descendancy and not a religion. They had given him the antisemitism tract in the beginning in English but he handed it back to them and did not accept one in Hebrew either. At the end of the conversation there was a woman who came up to them and opposing them, told the man who the team members were. The team informed her that they were very transparent with the man. They then asked the man if they could pray for him and as he agreed, one of the team members prayed. He also received a Beth Ariel card and was very surprised to hear that their rabbi who comes from Morocco, was Messianic. They encouraged him to listen on the radio or on the Internet.
They thanked God for the beautiful outing, for the sets that were given, and all the pamphlets and conversations. Praise God!

5 sets and 2 Bibles were given.
Team #1
The outing was the last one before Shavuot officially arrived. The people were very happy to hear chag sameah (happy holidays). It was a rainy day, but they thanked God that they were still able to go out and bring His word.
The first two sets were given to a mother and her son who were Russian. The mother received a Russian set and the son an English set. They both received a pin, and a hug was shared by one of the team members with the mother. They were very thankful and grateful!
Another set was given to a woman who was also thankful and grateful to receive the set and very surprised to receive such a gift.
One set in Russian was given to a man who was very touched by the encounter. They only had a set in Hebrew/English to give him, but they felt that it was important for him to have a Hebrew/Russian set. A member asked him if he was willing to wait for a couple of minutes and right away, he said that he was more than willing to wait, so the team member went to the other end of the mall and came back and handed the man a Hebrew/Russian set. He was very emotional and had tears in his eyes. He shared that 13 years ago during the time of Shavuot the synagogue bought a new Torah. The team responded saying that they were very touched that he was sharing these precious memories with them. They were able to tell him about Yeshua being the Messiah and spoke about the His two comings, the prophecies written in the Tanakh, and how they were fulfilled in the Brit regarding the Messiah’s first coming. They spoke about sin and how Yeshua can remove this. He was very attentive. He said to them, “There should be many more people like you”. He was very happy, and they were very touched by the encounter and a hug was shared by one of the team members.
Another set was given to a woman who went to a nearby synagogue. When the set was offered, she asked them for their phone number so that she could send a donation. They, of course, said that it was a gift for her. She was very surprised and thankful. They had a small conversation with her about Yeshua being the Messiah, sin and about reconciliation with God and gave her the Beth Ariel card where she could listen to the messages.
They then went to another centre for a short while. Here, a Bible was given to a woman who came from Moldava. She first received the anti-Semitism pamphlet that was translated in Romanian and a Beth Ariel card. She was very thankful. They did not have a long conversation as she was in a hurry and had to leave quickly.
They met an elderly Catholic man who shared with them, as they gave him the Beth Ariel card and the anti-Semitism tract, that he had many Jewish friends. They gave him two or three comfort cards along with some pamphlets for Shavuot that he would give to his friends. They told him that he could listen on the radio to the teachings of the pastor at Beth Ariel. When he saw the Shalom Radio station, he said that he loved Jewish music!
The team said, “Thank you, God for this wonderful outing and the joy that we saw in those we approached from the Jewish community as we wished them Chag Sameach (Happy Holidays). Thank you, Lord!”
Team #2
4 sets and 1 bible were given.
At the first mall, this team gave a set to a young Jewish lady who said she was not religious as she did not observe Shabbat but did observe the holidays. She was with a non-Jewish friend at that moment, yet she stayed and listened as the member spoke about the Messiah and that His name was Yeshua. Her friend was attentive as they spoke about sin and Isaiah 53 and how some of the ancient Talmudic rabbis agreed with the concept of the suffering Messiah. The young woman was very thankful.
They then met a young lady waiting for a bus. She was a Gentile and so they asked her if she wanted a bible and to their surprise she said yes!
Then, a Jewish man took the Shavuot pamphlet and listened as they told him that they were bible believers and that Yeshua was the Messiah. He commented that he had the same name as one of the members, and a member told him that God was calling him. They told him about the Messianic viewpoint, about sin and the kaphar (covering) and how the Passover lamb was the last sacrifice for sin. He took the Shavuot pamphlet and the Beth Ariel contact card.
At another mall, a member who was alone at the time, met a lady who was waiting for her transport. She was very receptive to the member speaking about the Messiah and Yeshua but said that Jews were not allowed to speak the name of Jesus. Upon hearing that the member believed that Yeshua was the Messiah, she had a positive response but just then her two friends arrived, and the conversation came to a close.
A set was given to a Jewish man who said he was once a teacher of the Torah in a Jewish school and was also the president of the Jewish community. He was told that in Isaiah 53 it spoke about the Messiah and how he would suffer that we might have forgiveness of sins. They talked then about the Brit Chadashah and how it was written by Jewish men of the first century who believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. He took all the literature and told the team that he wanted to learn as much as he could about this viewpoint and then took the Beth Ariel contact card so he could see the website to go to and hear the teachings of their rabbi, Jacques Issac Gabizon.
A set was given to a Gentile lady who said her husband was Jewish. She said he was a reporter for a Jewish newspaper. The woman was happy to meet the team and was surprised to see the beautiful Tanakh being given for free. They told her that they were volunteers with the Society that Distributes Hebrew Scriptures and then she accepted the Brit Chadashah as well.
Another set was given to a man who first took the Shavuot pamphlet and then commented that it was about Jesus. The team said that this was true and asked him to forgive Christianity for persecuting them. They told him then that real Christian believers pray for Israel and when he heard this, he opened up to them and shared his grieving. She spoke then of man’s sin and how it was written in Genesis that Adam and Eve received a covering made through a blood sacrifice but that One had come to give a final sacrifice for sin and that was the Messiah. He asked where God was during the Holocaust, and she responded that He was grieving but that He did keep a remnant alive. When he asked about the 6 million murdered, she suggested that he speak with their rabbi. The man’s name was the same as the first book of the New Testament and they told him that there were more than 92 references to the Messiah in that book alone. He was encouraged to speak to their rabbi and was very thankful for the gift.
The team gave thanks to God for His faithfulness and for their success in their outreach and thanked all those who prayed for them.
