3 sets, 1 Tanakh were given along with the pamphlets.
A team of two women was at their local shopping area, and as soon as they arrived, they gave a set in English/Hebrew to a married Jewish couple. They had a conversation with them for about fifteen minutes, discussing topics such as antisemitism and the two comings of the Messiah. They told them about their faith in Yeshua, how He fulfilled the prophecies written concerning Him in the Tanakh regarding the first coming, and that He will come back again to reign in Jerusalem. They told them about the New Testament and how they would be surprised to hear that it was not a “Roman” book but a book written by Jewish men who believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. They mentioned that the early Church comprised only Jewish people. They showed them the passage in the book of Acts 4:27-28, which shows that all mankind was responsible for the Messiah’s death. He covered sins for all mankind. They then said that Yeshua Himself laid down His life voluntarily and shared a passage in the Brit Chadashah from the book of John, Chapter 10. They mentioned the persecution that was increasing toward the Jewish people and Israel and shared how it had always been a minority that believed in the truth of the Word of God. They explained the difference between biblical and rabbinical Judaism. The couple received the Isaiah 53 leaflet, the set, and the Beth Ariel contact card, and was invited to Beth Ariel. They quoted the verse in Amos 5:4, “Seek Me that you may live.” They were very thankful and grateful.
The team then met a Jewish woman who was organizing and placing her things that she had just bought in the trunk of her car. When they handed the antisemitism pamphlet and started a conversation with her, she perceived that they were Messianic. A man was seated in the back seat of her car, and as soon as he heard the team was Messianic, he began making noises. The woman explained that he was upset because he had been Messianic but turned away from it. The team did not ask the woman for the reason, but offered her the Beth Ariel card because she had been responsive to what was being said. When she saw the congregation’s name, she said it was familiar to her, as she might have watched some messages on YouTube. She said she would look into it and thanked them, encouraging them and saying they were doing a good job.
One set in French/Hebrew was given to a Jewish Moroccan man. They discussed the antisemitism occurring at the time and shared that everything we need to know is written in the Scriptures. When they presented the set, they explained what the New Testament was and told him it was a book written by Jewish men who believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. They showed him how to read Yeshua’s genealogy in the first book of the Brit and gave him the Isaiah 53 leaflet. They spoke about the righteousness one can have in the Messiah and explained that no good works could make one approach God, as He is Holy. They also spoke about false Christians and the many persecutions that the Jewish people have encountered and will continue to encounter, referencing “the eternal hatred” mentioned in the Scriptures, Ezekiel 35:5. The man received the comfort card, the Isaiah 53 leaflet, and the Beth Ariel card. He thanked us, and we saw his gratitude in his smile.
One set in French/Hebrew was given to an Israeli woman. They gave her the antisemitism pamphlet and spoke about their faith in Yeshua, the Messiah while one of the team members shared that she was Messianic. The woman said that she was not religious but that her children were. While the team handed her the Beth Ariel card and invited her to visit the congregation, the woman shared that she was going to Chabad. They replied that Chabad was a religion. Here, they explained to her that God wanted her heart and not a religion but a relationship with her. She received the Isaiah 53 leaflet and they spoke about the righteousness that she could have in Yeshua. She also took the bookmark out of the hand of one of the team members and received the Beth Ariel card. She was in a hurry but they encouraged her to come for a visit, to read and to listen to the online messages.
One Tanakh in French/Hebrew was given to a man with whom they had a small conversation. When they offered the set, the team saw the man hesitate and when he saw the Brit Chadashah he did not want to take the set. They encouraged him to take at least the Tanakh, which he took, plus all the literature and he was very thankful.
The team said that they thank God for the wonderful outing and thanked everyone who prayed and who are continuing to pray for this ministry.
