1 Brit Chadashah plus several pamphlets and comfort cards were distributed.

Because the weather was milder that day, a team of two was able to venture out and visit a local shopping mall. However, they had only a few conversations, as the people were in a hurry.

A Russian/Hebrew Brit Chadashah was given to a Jewish woman from Ukraine. She received the antisemitism pamphlet and the comfort card. She was offered a Tanakh, but she informed them that she already had one. She asked the team where they were from, and they responded that they were volunteers with the SDHS. The team asked her if she had a Brit Chadashah. Because she did not know what it was, they presented it to her and explained that it was a divinely inspired book written by Jewish people who believed Yeshua was the Messiah. They explained that the prophecies of the first coming of the Messiah, as recorded in the Tanakh, were fulfilled in the Brit Chadashah, and that she could read there about the announcement of the Messiah’s coming. They shared that the prophecies regarding the Messiah’s Second Coming and when He will reign in Jerusalem had not yet been fulfilled. She was given the Isaiah 53 leaflet and encouraged to read (she shared that she did not read often) and to listen to the word; they also gave her a Beth Ariel card. She was very thankful and grateful.

They then met a humble, Christian man they had met before, and he was happy to see the team in the mall, offering pamphlets and sets. He shared his thoughts and concerns about the condition of the world and encouraged the team to continue.

They met an elderly Jewish man who was driving a car manufactured 30 years ago. They were impressed by how well he had maintained it. He took the antisemitism tract, the comfort card, and the Beth Ariel contact card from them. He did not want to take the Tanakh, saying he would not read it, but he promised to read the literature that was handed to him. They ended the conversation quickly when they saw a religious man parked not far from them. As he stepped out of the car, he kept looking at them. The team thanked the man for his time and for sharing his coupons of the week with them, saying they could get free ice cream. It was very sweet of him.

They met a couple who identified as Christian. They received the antisemitism pamphlet. They said they already had a Bible, so the team gave them the Beth Ariel contact card. One team member shared that she was Jewish and believed that Jesus/Yeshua is the Christ, which surprised the woman. They shared that Jesus is the only way to the Father and that this is for all the nations (for Jews and Gentiles). They explained that Jesus was a Jew born in Bethlehem from the tribe of Judah. They let her know that in the Old Testament, she and her husband could read about the prophecies of the coming Messiah/Christ, and in the New Testament about the fulfillment of these prophecies by Jesus. She said this was how they would know that He is the Christ. They encouraged them to read the Bible and listen to the messages offered on the website. The team wished the woman a good recovery, as she had just been discharged from the hospital.

The team said it felt great to get their “feet wet” and to be back in the malls, sharing the Word of God. They said they wanted to thank all the people who were praying for them and for being part of this ministry, and to thank God for His goodness and faithfulness.
