Magen David on Hebrew Scriptures

Report for Thursday, December 26th

3 sets (2 English and 1 Russian) plus 1 French Tanakh and 1 English Bible were given.

On this sunny day a team of two ladies visited a small mall.  Since there were so few there, the team decided to move to another place.

At this second mall, the team gave out mostly Christmas and Hanukkah pamphlets.  They met a man who they were able to speak to about Yeshua and the scriptures. He did not take a gift set nor a Tanakh but accepted the pamphlet and card. At this point the team decided to move to the back part of the mall where more cars had parked, and they were thankful as they saw a security car arrive just when they left. They praised God for His protection and guidance.

At the new area, the team gave an English set to a mother and daughter who were walking together, arm in arm. They were well dressed, and it was touching to see them interact in such a loving manner. They received the pamphlet and card first and when the mother saw the Tanakh, she called it a Torah. The team replied, “Yes, it is the Torah, Nevi’im and the Ketuvim”. They then showed the daughter the Brit Chadashah. She accepted the set and then asked the team to place a pamphlet in her mother’s purse. They were very thankful for the scriptures, pamphlets and card given to them.

An English bible was given to a young man. He was with another young man who stated that he had a bible. The first man decided to accept a bible and so a team member spoke about the gospel while the other team member went to get a bible from the car. The young man was very happy to now have a bible and spoke about the year’s events with them. His friend was excited for him, and they smiled as the team left them.

The team approached a man who was standing near the team’s car. He said he was from Morocco and was surprised to receive the pamphlet and when he was offered the Tanakh in French, he was touched and humbled to receive such a beautiful gift. They offered him the Brit Chadashah, but he told them that he wanted to start with the Tanakh first.

A set was given to a man from Israel. The team had difficulty speaking with him as he had limited French and English but did speak Russian and Hebrew. They tried to communicate with him, and he managed to tell them that he wanted the scriptures in Russian and Hebrew.  The team was able to give him the set that he wanted, and he kept saying, “Toda raba!”. This is Hebrew for thank you very much.

The team had noticed a woman leave her car and go quickly to the mall, but they were able to call to her as she returned and got into her car. She opened her window, and they were able to give her a Hanukkah pamphlet, card and an entire set. She said thank you with a big smile.

The team at that point went into the mall to warm up and get some refreshments. Here they met a Jewish woman who sat beside them. They had a long conversation of about 30 minutes with her. She shared some personal things with them, and they were able to speak about Yeshua, and about the way to Him. She smiled at them as they told her about eternity and how God wanted her with him and how He wants her heart. She had a Tanakh, she said, but took only took the Hanukkah card. She knew the gospel somewhat but would not accept the Brit. They asked her to read Isaiah 53 and to take her time reading so that she could see the love of God and redemption through Yeshua, the Messiah.

Afterwards they went to visit a man who had previously prayed to receive Yeshua as his saviour. It was a touching time with him, and they shared time together over coffee and pastries. He showed them some pictures of his family and the team noticed that he had kept these family pictures sitting right on top of the Tanakh and Brit Chadashah which they had given him on a previous visit.  The team said it was encouraging to see these scriptures and an Israeli flag placed amongst his precious photos. The team asks for prayer for this man “Y” for his health, comfort and joy from the Lord to overflow in his heart.

The team thanks everyone for their prayers and thanks the Lord for such a beautiful day.
