3 sets and 1 Tanakh were given and one prayer of salvation!

Team #1 consisting of two members were out on this very hot day. The first set was given to a man in an electric wheelchair. He was very happy to receive the set and asked the team to put the gift set in one of his bags. He also received all the literature and a pin. He kept on smiling the whole time and he was very thankful. As they handed him the Beth Ariel card, he was encouraged to listen to the messages.

A Tanakh was given to a Jewish man and when they presented him with the Brit Chadashah, he was reluctant to take it.  They were able to share that the Brit was written by Jewish men who believed Yeshua was the Messiah. They continued explaining about the Scriptures, saying that unfortunately many churches had wrongly interpreted and distorted the Bible, in terms of Israel’s place, resulting in antisemitism and even Christian persecution of Israel. They quoted the verse from Matthew 7: 22-23, where Yeshua explained that many, in the end would say to Him, “Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name and in Your name drive out demons and in Your name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” They opened the Brit Chadashah and they were able to show him the start of Matthew which was Yeshua’s genealogy line. They spoke about the importance of being reconciled with God and shared the passages from Isaiah 53 and Daniel 12:2. He took all the literature and contact card and was very thankful and grateful.

They approached a man who told them that he did not have time to talk but as they were walking later on, they saw him again next to his car. They insisted that they only wanted to give him a gift and as they offered the set, he told them that he already had a Tanakh and a Brit Hadashah in Hebrew! They gave him a yellow hostage pin and a Beth Ariel contact card which he was happy to receive. They shared their faith in Yeshua and he replied saying that his wife was Catholic. He was in a hurry, but they encouraged him to listen to the messages on the radio or on the internet. Before he left, he asked the team to pray for his daughter who was sick. They assured him that they would pray right away and as they were praying, he passed by in his car and stopped to thank them.

They met a Russian man who already had received a set at his home years ago. The team was happy to hear that and encouraged him to continue to read the Scriptures. They gave him a Beth Ariel card so that he could listen to the messages.

One set was given to a Jewish woman, and they had a conversation about the situation in Israel.  The woman told them that she happened to be in Israel on October 7th, which was the day she was planning to leave and return home to Canada. They told her that there would only be world peace when Yeshua returns to reign in Jerusalem and that it was not possible for man to make or bring peace. They spoke about the reconciliation she can have through Yeshua’s sacrifice and about the reality of sin. They explained that, at Yom Kippur, animals had to be sacrificed, and blood had to be shed for the atonement of sin. They shared the passage from Leviticus 17: 11 and from Isaiah 53, pointing to how Yeshua could make one righteous. They explained that God is holy and that no good works could save man but only faith through grace could bring salvation. They referenced Abraham concerning his faith and how God reckoned him righteous. They opened the Brit Chadashah pointing to the genealogy of Yeshua. She received everything and thanked them saying that they were doing a good work.

A young Italian man received Yeshua as His Saviour! What a miracle! Thank you Lord! The team had a long conversation with a man who believed in Yeshua but had not received Him personally as His Saviour. He was eager to pray and decisive in responding and repeating as one of the team members prayed along with him. He understood that God was calling him and recognized that He had sent the team to him just as he was seeking answers. After praying the salvation prayer, the team explained what had just taken place and how he had become a child of God, and that the Holy Spirit now indwells him. They shared the importance of praying daily to God, to His Father, and how daily repentance of sin was necessary. They showed him how to pray (to the Father in Yeshua’s name through the Holy Spirit) and the importance of being in the Word. They gave him the Beth Ariel card and showed him where he could listen to the messages. They invited him to the Shabbat service and asked for his phone number, but he refused, for personal reasons. He told the team that he worked in the Jewish community and had many friends there and that he loved the Jewish people! The team asks for prayer that he would be able to share his faith in Yeshua with the Jewish community. The team was touched by what had happened and were humbled, witnessing this great miracle that God had done!

They decided then to leave the mall and go and have a coffee. As they were about to leave, they saw an elderly man sitting alone and they approached him, gently asking him if he was part of the Jewish community. He answered that he was, so he was given a comfort card along with the Promises of Israel and the antisemitism pamphlet. They said that they had a gift for him and offered him a set in French. He was very touched and overwhelmed with all these gifts. He told them that he had been a commander in the IDF and fought in the Six-Day War in 1967. The team thanked him for his service and gave him a Beth Ariel contact card and explained that the messages could be heard on the radio or the internet. They told him that their rabbi was from Morocco and that the congregation was Messianic. He spoke kind words to them as they were about to leave, and they were touched by his humility and gentleness. They thanked God for the beautiful outing, for His grace and love, and for His guidance and protection. Praise God!

4 sets were given.

For this outing, they decided to stay in one mall as it was very warm. They were very thankful and grateful to be shaded from the sun as this particular place had a roof over a footbridge. A new team member joined today for this outing!

The first Hebrew/French set was given to a woman from Morocco who was happy to receive everything. They had a conversation with her for about 15 minutes. They presented the Brit Chadashah and explained that the book was written by Jewish men who believed that Yeshua is the Messiah. They shared that many had distorted the word of God which led to persecution against the Jewish people, even accusing them of having killed Jesus. They shared the passage from the book of Acts 4: 27, “For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontus Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel”.  They explained that all of mankind had killed Jesus, Yeshua, and therefore it is possible to say that all have sinned. They shared how Yeshua can make one righteous before God and encouraged her to read and seek the truth. They opened the Brit Hadashah and showed her the genealogy of Yeshua, that He was a Jew from the royal lineage of Judah. She was very attentive during this conversation. She exclaimed that she would read the book! They gave her the Beth Ariel contact card and before leaving, they hugged each other. Later, when she walked by them, she waved, as well as when she was driving away in her car. It was very sweet.

Another set was given to a man along with a comfort card and an antisemitism pamphlet. They presented the Tanakh to this man, and the team noticed another Jewish man who stopped as he saw the Tanakh being offered. The other team member right away went to talk to him, and so another gift set was given to the second man passing by. The first man shared that he was from Morocco, and a team member said that her father was also from Morocco. He was given a Tanakh, and when presented with the Brit, they encouraged him to take the time to read the genealogy of Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah. He was given the Isaiah 53 leaflet, and explained that only the Messiah could make one righteous (tsadik) before God.  He accepted the Beth Ariel contact card and was surprised to hear that their rabbi was from Morocco. They left him then, but he came back to see them. He asked a Jewish team member for her last name, which she shared, and requested the origin of the other team member. That member responded saying that she was from Japheth. This gave them the opportunity to share the table of the nations in Genesis 10 and the genealogy of Noah. One team member shared her faith in Yeshua and spoke of things written in the Bible. Before leaving the man, they asked him if he was religious. He replied that he sometimes went to the synagogue and so they invited him to Beth Ariel congregation as it was near to where he lives. It was a very endearing encounter.

Another set was given in Hebrew/Russian to a very elegant woman. She smiled and thanked them as she took all the literature offered to her.

The team stated they were thankful to God for this great outing and for all the literature, sets, and conversations they had, and were grateful for His protection as they had a woman who opposed them when they were handing a pamphlet to a Jewish woman. She shouted that they were missionaries and that this woman should not take anything from them. They also were thankful for all the prayers and grateful for the Society of Distribution of the Hebrew Scriptures, which provided the teams with the beautiful sets (the Word of God) to give away. Thank you, Lord!

Report from Team #2

4 gift sets plus many antisemitism pamphlets and 1 Hostage Support pin was given.

A team of two women were at a large shopping mall and were able to give out several antisemitism pamphlets; however, this area was very quiet on that particularly hot day, so they decided to move on to their next destination.

At the second mall, the team met a young French speaking Jewish lady. She was offered a gift set and, upon seeing its beauty, she wanted to take one for her father also. They spoke with this lady for about 20 minutes and found out that she was familiar with the Messianic viewpoint as she had received a degree in religious studies. It was clear that despite this information, the young woman did not have a clear knowledge of her religion and she asked for further clarification about certain issues. A member explained the difference between rabbinical and biblical Judaism, about the first five books of the Tanakh. Naming the books for her, the woman followed the list with uncertainty: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. They spoke about the commandments and the 613 laws and how Yeshua, the Messiah had come to fulfill the laws. They told her about the Brit Chadashah they could offer her and how it spoke about a new covenant as mentioned in Jeremiah 31: 31-34. They spoke about sin and the need for repentance of sin, which was explained in Leviticus 17:11. She heard that Yeshua was the Messiah of Israel and how important it was for her to believe the Hebrew Scriptures. They further shared that she needed a personal relationship with God. She took the two sets, 2 comfort cards, 2 pamphlets, and the Beth Ariel contact card, where she was encouraged to go online and listen to Pastor Jacques Gabizon’s messages. She was very thankful.

A set was given to a Jewish man who was surprised to have a free Tanakh. The team told the man that they were volunteers with the SDHS and that the organization was located in London, England. He took the set happily after hearing about the smaller book being written by Jewish men who believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. He took all the literature offered to him.

The team then met a Jewish woman who approached them and seeing the yellow pin on one of the team members asked if she could have one for herself.  After a search she was told that they had run out but then one of the members took her own pin and pinned it onto the woman’s top. She explained that she was from Israel and was very touched by the team offering the gifts to people. She was shown the gift set, and she accepted it willingly and with thankfulness.

They then met a religious, Jewish gentleman who accepted the comfort card and the antisemitism pamphlet. He thanked the team for their work, but he did not want the Tanakh for himself as he said he had many. The team then offered him the Brit Chadashah but he refused that also. He was very thankful however for the literature.

They then met a Christian woman with her daughter. They stated that they were very much aware of the antisemitism in the world and spoke about all the wars going on. She was offered a bible, but she said that she already had one but they each took a pamphlet and a contact card.

Finally, they met an evangelical, Christian man who was very aware of what was happening in the world concerning antisemitism and he was offered a bible. He thanked the team but said he had many bibles but did take the pamphlet and contact card.

The day was very hot, and the team was thankful for the prayers that sustained them through the heat.  They praised God for His faithfulness and protection and were humbled by the beautiful conversations they had.
