2 sets, 1 Bible were given.

At the first mall:

One English Bible was given to an Iranian man. He received the antisemitism pamphlet and did not hesitate to accept the Bible. He shared that he did not believe in religion, so the team of two ladies explained that religion was man-made and that there were many out there, but that there was only one truth, which could be found in the Bible. They shared that God wanted his heart and a relationship with him. He admitted that he prayed to God, but that God was not answering him, so they responded that God was calling him, as He had sent them to him. They told him that it was important to be reconciled with God, as sin separated men from God, and stressed that reconciliation and forgiveness of sins could only be found through His Son, Jesus/Yeshua, the Messiah, the Christ. He did not think that his sins were “so bad,” so they spoke about the holiness of God and how he could not change his sinful nature himself. They discussed the fall of man and referred to Genesis 3:15, noting that Adam and Eve believed in the promise of a Messiah to come. They gave him the Isaiah 53 leaflet, quoted Isaiah 9:6, and read part of Proverbs 30 with him, to explain the importance of understanding the divinity of the Messiah, the Son of God. They shared that no works could save, but only through faith by grace could man be reconciled with God. They gave him a tract, encouraged him to take the time to read it, and showed him the salvation prayer written on the back. They gave him the Beth Ariel card, invited him to visit the congregation, and told him that they were Jews and Gentiles together who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah. He was very thankful and grateful as they shook hands.

A French/Hebrew set was given to a Jewish man. When he saw the antisemitism pamphlet, he said that he knew all about it as he was listening to the news. They explained that in the Scriptures, everything was foretold about antisemitism, the promises and covenants of God which He made with Israel. They shared that the Scriptures held the truth and spoke to him about how the recent news should not be trusted and that most of it is biased. He gladly received the Brit Chadashah as they shared that it was written by Jewish men who believed that Yeshua was the Messiah. They spoke about the genealogy of Yeshua in both the book of Matthew and Luke, and about how he was able to read the prophecies of the Messiah’s first coming. They gave him the Isaiah 53 leaflet and read: “Who has believed our report?”   They shared that only a minority will believe this and spoke about sin and how the Messiah could make him tsadik. They gave him the Beth Ariel card and told him that their Rabbi came from Morocco. He was very thankful and grateful.

The team then went to the other mall, where one set in English/Hebrew was given to a Jewish woman. She asked the team if they were Jewish, and one member responded that she was. She then asked which organization they were from, and they told her they were volunteers for the SDHS. They gave her a Beth Ariel contact card, which she took, and she thanked them for everything.

The team spoke with a Christian man who received the antisemitism pamphlet and the Beth Ariel card. They emphasized the importance of reading the whole counsel of the Scriptures, knowing who Jesus truly is, and understanding the present situation in Israel, including antisemitism and what the future holds for Israel. He was surprised to hear that Jesus was prophesied to return and reign in Jerusalem. He believed that men would bring peace, so they discussed how only Jesus would bring true peace and shared that men would have destroyed themselves if it were not for God’s restraining hand. They encouraged him to listen to the teachings on the radio or online. He thanked them for what they were doing.

The team had a heated conversation with a Jewish man who followed rabbinical Judaism. They handed him a pamphlet on antisemitism, saying they were born again and believed in Jesus, which he declined. He asked them if they were Jewish, and one of the members said that she was. He asked her if her mother was Jewish, and he then told her that she was not Jewish since her mother was not. She shared about Joseph and how he married a woman who was not Jewish, yet the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, two of the twelve tribes of Israel, came from her. The man responded that it was before the Mosaic law was given, so they told him that rabbinical Judaism takes the role of defining who is Jewish and who is not, whereas God is the One who identifies in His word who is a Jew. He did not believe that Israel was defined simply as descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He argued with them, stating that they should not pronounce the name of God. They shared that God wanted a relationship with men, not a religion, and that David, who loved the Lord, continually mentioned the name of God. They then spoke about the Shema and the meaning of the term echad, which is used (echad is a composite one, meaning multiple items form one group, such as a “one” cluster of grapes). They pointed out that the word for single and absolute one, yachid, was not used. They mentioned the divinity of Yeshua, the Messiah, that the Brit Hadashah is a Jewish book, and that, in the beginning, only Jews were part of the Church. They shared about the persecution of the Jewish nation by false Christians, and all the while the man was disputing and arguing with them. They told him that their Rabbi had come from Morocco and presented him with a contact card. He took it, and at the end of their encounter, the man shredded the card to pieces and shouted at them as he left.

The team expressed deep gratitude to God for all the conversations, pamphlets, comfort cards distributed, and the sets and the Bible given. They thank Him for His protection and the joy He gives freely. Please pray for the salvation of all those they met. They thank you for being partners in this great ministry that is God’s. All the glory, praise, and thanksgiving are His!
