We praise God that the war between Israel and Iran was short-lived. Yet we must recognize a sobering truth; it ceased at the very moment it reached a dangerous boiling point. What is most extraordinary is how close recent events mirrored the very scenes described by the ancient prophets’ depictions of the world on the brink, just before the War of Gog and Magog and the Battle of Armageddon preceding the Second Coming. We already mentioned that the War of Gog and Magog involved Iran at war with Israel. However, other nations, part of the 10-country coalition seem eager to help Iran, and one of them is Russia.

The day before the war ended, on June 23, Russia’s president proclaimed that his country is ready to help the Iranian people. This was a day after the Iranian foreign minister visited Moscow, according to his word, to coordinate positions with Putin. But what kind of help would Russia bring to Iran?

On this same day of the visit, Russian ex-president Medvedev said that, and I quote, “A number of countries are ready to supply Iran with nuclear warheads following American strikes on nuclear facilities”. They talked about providing nuclear armament to Iran. This scene certainly looks so much like how Ezekiel described it in his chapters 38-39 where he saw Russia and Iran, two easily identifiable countries on his list, teaming up together against Israel and the west.

But another country also rose against Israel. Just a couple of weeks before this war, the Israeli media reported that Iran ordered material from China that can make some 800 ballistic missiles. It may have been this very fact that prompted Israel to strike first. If Iran had these 800 missiles, the war would have been different. So, Russia and China were there to help just like the prophets predicted and as they will in the future.

But where is China in prophecy? This country must be one of the Kings of the rising sun coming to join Armageddon in the end times according to John in Revelation. In Revelation 9:16 John sees them crossing a dry Euphrates river. The number of the armies of the soldiers was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. They will come in great number.

So, these three nations Iran, Russia and China were ready to help Iran, but they were not the only ones: other nations also rose at the same time against Israel this past week. These are mentioned within the campaign of the 10 nations of Gog and Magog plus others mentioned in the list of 10 nations from Psalm 83. Who are they?

Two days before the end of the war, Sunday the 22^nd of June, the foreign ministers of 57 Muslim nations, members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation met in Turkey to condemn the Israeli aggression against Iran. How interesting that it was in Turkey where they met, for this is a country identified as Beth-Togarmah by Ezekiel as rising and taking sides with Russia and Iran against Israel and the west. These Muslim countries could be seen with them listed in the same chapter and in Psalm 83 saying together: “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more.” Psalm 83:4

What then is so amazing is when one considers all these nations rising together, within a very short time, as if ready to fulfill the prophecies of our ancient prophets. But they cannot do anything without God allowing it and thank God that He stopped them.

And while the war was going on, we understood that it would be short-lived because there are other elements missing. Before the greater war of Armageddon begins, a false peace-treaty needs to be signed and the Third Temple needs to be rebuilt, and it seems that this is where it is headed at this very time.

Two days ago, Trump declared that he is now working on a plan to end the Gaza war and expand the Abraham Accords. This could open the way for the coming peace treaty. It may take some time, but this is where the world seems to be heading. And so, in light of the greater biblical end-time plan, the events of last week serve as both a foreshadow and a warning of things to come.

For us, and one more time, they demonstrate that God is in complete control. This is why looking at prophecies and seeing God in action is such a blessing.
