From our Saturday Service message:
Now, we are in the 43rd day of the war between Israel and Hamas and there is one thing that has been growing since October 7th that does not seem to waver. It is the level of antizionism and antisemitism that seems to have reached a point of no return. This is just what the Bible prophecies have predicted from Revelation 12 and Zechariah 14. This is what we ought to expect before Yeshua comes back.
Take for instance the new Twitter that is now called X. This media has an approximate monthly viewership of 556 million and it exerts a great influence here in North America. The owner, Elon Musk, who is the wealthiest man on the planet, has suddenly accused the Jews of hatred against the white people. He endorsed a tweet claiming Jews struck up hatred of white people as a true fact. This brought the US government to complain and IMB to remove its advertising on X.
This accusation is an old extreme right-wing conspiracy theory, a white supremacist theory called the Great Replacement which accuses Jews of driving hatred against white people. They say that Jews, through deployment of mass migration wanted to replace white European populations with non-white people, especially from Muslim majority countries. It makes no sense, but this is one lie among others that is being spread and when confronted by it, Elon Musk said, “This is the actual truth”.
Furthermore, since October 7, there was a surge in antisemitism on X with a 919% increase. In comparison, on Facebook it was only 28%; this perhaps because the owner is Jewish.
Another media, one that covers even greater territory, is Tik Tok which has 1.05 billion monthly users. For several days it had shared a published letter from Osama bin Ladin back from 2002. He was the one who underwrote the destruction of New York’s Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. In this letter Bin Laden claims that Israel must be erased and speaks against the Jews who control our policies, media and economy.
It went viral for about a week on TikTok and people responded with statement such as, “Everyone should read it,” saying the letter was “eye-opening,” that it “explains so much”. Another wrote, “It all makes sense now.” See how it does not take much to ignite the fire of Jew hatred. The Israeli government responded by saying that this is the biggest antisemitic movement since the Nazis.
And what does this all mean to the Bible believer? Antisemitism is not only about the Jews; it involves the whole world. Throughout history, even beginning with the Egyptians 3500 years ago, the rise of antisemitism was often a sign, an indicator of deep troubles within a society, with an outcome of extremism, violence and war.
Let us remember the biblical principle of Romans 2:9, There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Gentiles.
The Jewish people are like the canary in a coal mine; this bird is the first to detect gas and warns the workers to flee the mine. There is a wave of hatred rising in this world, and the canary has spoken.
