Do you remember the Abraham Accords? We spoke about it a few times these past few months. The Abraham Accords is an agreement on normalizing relations between Israel and the Arab nations. It is an attempt at a peace treaty, a long awaited one and so far, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco signed the agreement.
This treaty brought Netanyahu to say that the Abraham Accords opened up an era of genuine peace. A dawn of a new age of peace. This Accord, however was interrupted by the war with Hamas in October 2023. But now we can see that this treaty between the Arab nations and Israel looks like it is being revived as never seen before.
Yesterday President Trump said that he believes that Saudi Arabia, will join the Abraham Accords. Saudi Arabia remains the most significant potential signatory to the Accords. Next month, Trump is planning to visit Riyadh, the Saudi capital. This will mark the first political trip for Trump. He added, “I think it will be full very quickly. We had four countries in the Abraham Accords, and it was all set. We would have had it packed. Now we’re going to start it again.” He seems to have this accord at heart.
Then, several days ago, we heard of another unlikely candidate wanting to join this Accord, the new leader of Syria. President Amhed Al-Sharaah is said to be looking for peace with Israel and is eyeing to join. This is really a complete turn around. Also, on the table for possibly entering these Accords is Lebanon. These two possibilities were suggested by US Congressman Mills last Thursday.
And besides these events, three days ago, on April 23, Jordan banned the Muslim Brotherhood, declaring it an illegal organization. Hamas is connected to this group. It all seems to be happening at the same time. So, we ask, what triggers these events and why is it so important to us? Besides the fall of much of Hezbollah and Hamas, this attempt at a peace treaty in the Middle East may be prophetically significant.
The Abraham Accords may be the beginning of the deceptive false Peace Treaty which Bible prophecies speak of as the point of departure for the seven-year Tribulation times. I am not saying this is it, but the Abraham Accords could very well be a precursor to the visions recorded especially by Daniel the prophet. Speaking of the coming Antichrist, it says in chapter 9:27 of his prophecies, He will make a firm covenant with the many for one seven year, but in the middle of the seven years he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; … until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
The “he” at the beginning of the verse is the antichrist – he begins his work by signing a peace covenant with Israel for 7 years – a false one. This is why in Rev.6 he is seen riding a white horse – but it is not peace that follows but wars and tribulations. In the middle of it, after three and a half years, Daniel and John (in Revelation) speak of this great world war. This is why John speaks of 1260 days and of 42 months, that is three and a half years according to Bible Calendar.
So, in the midst of the wars and rumors of war, we ought to expect that Israel will reach a certain time of peace, which will be followed by an attack from different countries, which bring us deep into the time of the Tribulation. Are we that close to these times. Let us keep our eyes on this potential peace treaty and the different movements in the Middle East and especially on Saudi Arabia who had, for many years, its eyes on the Temple Mount. For us, one thing really stands out: if there was a time in history when we ought to speak the Word of God and proclaim salvation in Yeshua, it is now. Great opportunities are opening up in front of us; let us then speak the Word and pray for the fields are white for the harvest.
