Report for Friday, January 10th
5 sets (2 English, 1 French, 1 Russian and 1 Hebrew) plus 1 French Tanakh were given.
On this bright and sunny day, a team of three visited two local shopping malls. At the first mall they immediately met a woman who opposed them as they were walking in the parking lot. They decided then to remove themselves from that entrance and try another major door entrance. At this entrance, 1 set was given to a mother and her two daughters. They were grateful to receive this gift but unfortunately at that moment they saw security guards nearby and so they decided to leave this place altogether
Before they left, they met a Christian woman who said her son attended the local synagogue with his Jewish friends and the team member saw that this woman was very grounded in her Christian faith. They took time to pray with her for herself and her son that the Lord would reveal Himself to them. It was a beautiful conversation.
The team left then as they did not want to take the chance of meeting up with security and at the following mall, they gave out 4 sets and 1 Tanakh. Here, they gave out one Russian set to a woman who was very surprised that she could have the set in Russian. While one team member went to get the Russian set, another member spoke to the woman about the chuppah (Hebrew for canopy), a spiritual of protection and blessing found traditionally in Judaism. They spoke about the misconception of there being two Messiahs, Moshiach ben Yosef and Moshiach ben David and she was told that there was just one Messiah, Yeshua who would come two times and then finally rule in Jerusalem. She was touched by the conversation and received the set offered to her.
They spoke then to a Christian woman who exclaimed, after seeing the name Beth Ariel, “Oh my faither used to go to Beth Ariel”. This man indeed attended the services there. The team was delighted to have met this man’s daughter and they ask us for prayer that this woman would listen to the messages and perhaps visit the congregation.
The male member of the team had a good conversation with a Christian lady who accepted a pamphlet from him. He also had another conversation with a Jewish man who said that it was not a good idea for the team to be in the parking lot as people do not like that. The member then wished him well and told the man that they were there to bless the Jewish people. There was no further conversation with him. Afterwards, he met a woman who said to him, “Thank you for doing this work, it is beautiful what you are doing”. This encouraged the team member as he knew then that the Lord wanted them at that mall.
An English set was given to a woman who also received all that was offered to her. She was interested when she saw the Brit Chadashah and immediately wanted to take it. They spoke to her about Yeshua being the Messiah and told her that the Brit was written by Jewish men living around the time of Yeshua who knew Him personally and who believed that He was indeed the Messiah. They gave her a contact card and showed her the site to go to in order to listen to the pastor’s teaching.
One Tanakh was given in French to a woman from Morocco. She was impressed to have a free gift and was told that the team were volunteers from the Society that Distributes Hebrew Scriptures. She was impressed and listened as they spoke about Yeshua being the Messiah. She decided to take only the Tanakh and begin with that, but she was also given the Isaiah 53 leaflet and heard about the prophecy concerning the Messiah. She accepted a hug from the team.
They met a Jewish man from Morocco who wanted to have the set in Hebrew only. In addition to the set, they gave the man the Isaiah 53 leaflet. They then explained the prophecy found within the leaflet concerning who the Messiah was and why He would come and that He would be able to make man righteous before God. The team member who offered the set was surprised how calmly he took the Brit without comment, affirming that he wanted it. He was given a contact card also.
A set was given to a woman from Casablanca. She was grateful to receive the set, and they talked about the true Messiah from the scriptures. They gave her a contact card and showed her the link to the Beth Ariel messages. She was told that their pastor was from Casablanca and when she was told his last name she said she knew of him and knew the sister. She told the team that it was beautiful what they were doing and smiled broadly as they said goodbye.
It was a perfect day to be out, and the sky was blue with hardly a cloud in sight. They thanked God for His direction, protection and provision, stating also that many pamphlets were handed out. They also thanked everyone for praying during their outing.
