Report for Wednesday, July 13th
21 pamphlets, 2 gift sets and 1 English bible were given out.
Two ladies from our team were out in a local shopping area and approached a woman who received the gift set with happiness. This woman encouraged the ladies by saying it was great what they were doing. She received our contact information and was encouraged to call the office should she want them to visit her at home.
They then approached another woman who wanted to have an English bible and took a gift set for her best friend who is Jewish. She mentioned that she was very surprised at and joyful from the blessing of such beautiful gifts.
An Isaiah 53 leaflet was given to a very religious Jewish woman who willingly accepted it.
The team praised God for answered prayer, for protection and a beautiful time on a sunny yet windy day.
Report for Friday, July 15th
20 pamphlets, 1 gift set, 1 Brit Chadashah were given.
A team of two women went to a small mall in an area of Montreal that had not been visited for quite a while due to issues of antagonism. This day, however, went quite well. While the members were sitting in their car a woman quickly went past but they called out to her with a smile and a warm greeting. The Jewish woman, although orthodox, was dressed moderately and stopped to chat. She was offered the antisemitism pamphlet and was told by one team member that it was because she loved God that she wanted to share the message of the Messiah. She went on to share her testimony of how she was saved and related it to the story of Isaac and his salvation through the Messiah. The woman listened and speaking freely said, “What you are saying is that you are grafted into the Jewish people” which astonished the team member. The use of such wording as “grafted in” told them that this woman had obviously been doing some studying or reading of the Scriptures already. She was offered a Brit Chadashah but did not accept it. She did still engage in conversation with them, adding, “What you say is divine”. This woman seems to have a foot in the door already. Would you pray for her?
Another Jewish woman dressed all in black met us on the sidewalk and received the pamphlet first and through the conversation she mentioned that she had attended church a few times with her friend and that she had loved Jesus since she was a little girl. She hesitated in taking the Brit Chadashah but asked for prayer for Ukraine and as we prayed together, we saw that she took a moment to slip the small Brit Chadashah into her purse. She seemed to want to leave just after but was reluctant and slow in saying good-bye.
Another lady who looked European was approached by the team while she was going to her car with her groceries. She was offered the pamphlet and because she was so receptive, the team member thought she was a Gentile believer and began explaining what was written in the pamphlet on antisemitism. The woman said, “I am Jewish”, and shared that she came to Canada from Lithuania in the 1980s. Offering her the bible set, she gladly took it and asked the team member how she personally became acquainted with the Messiah. As she listened, she wanted to know more about the congregation that the member attended because she had retired and wanted to visit. She said that she had been touched by an angel that day and crossed her arms over her heart and said she would visit the congregation in the future. Please pray for this eager woman that she would indeed visit us soon.
